We met up with the Kitale team consisting of Mardie Gibbs, Stephani Hutchinson, Linda Tyler and Allen Gayle at the Jacaranda Hotel this afternoon. They are all fine and have really logged on the miles evangelizing in Kitale, Mwiba and Engeem. They are elated with the fruits of their work and Linda will post a report soon.
I wanted to put up some pictures and post comments from team members so you can see them. I am sorry we have been "dark" with posting but internet is iffy in the bush. Even though we were able to skype on Sunday, signals have been week. These are the reports I have in my hands tonight.
This is team 1 is the Rift Valley at Oiti Baptist Church on September 28, 2010.
Peyton Joyner,Taylor & Ashley Hemphill, Walter Haskins, Dawn Hughes, our Pastor, Lena Reyes, Mimi Brummitt, Howard Satterfield, Andrea Horne and Bill Howard.
Reflections on our work:
Peyton Joyner: " My assignment was to teach Ephesians at Pastors Conferences in Kisumu and in Masaii land. One of the themes in the book of Ephesians is 'The Church-One Body'. This emphasizes the unity of the church through Jesus. Kenya needs to beware of false doctrines, especially Islam."

Howard Satterfield: " My trip to Kenya this year has its own blessings and meaning as it does every year. As I taught Genesis and the creation story in a land that is beautiful, I realize God's perfect creation. God saw to create the earth in a perfect order that gave His next creation everything it needs for survival. He created the plants before animals, the animals before He formed man with His own hands. God created man in "Let us make man in OUR own image, according to OUR own likeness. Genesis 1:26A. "

Lena Reyes : "We cannot take North Carolina on the plane. But, we can take the word of our Lord to teach to be strong and very courageous, and do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. "

Mimi Brummitt: " The women of Africa have helped me grow in my faith and have convicted me of some things in my life that I needed to cleanse myself of. I feel like I have had a spiritual revival because I have trusted the Lord to lead me in teaching these hungry women of faith. I have put my complete trust in the Lord and He has used me in ways I never imagined. They know Jesus but are so hungry" to be fed the word". They told us that they want us to return and teach them how to read the bible and how to teach their children. These women are precious to me. "

Ashley & Taylor Hemphill : " This trip has been an amazing experience. We didn't really know what to expect, as this is the first time we've ever been on a mission trip (not to mention the first time we've ever been out of the US). We spent our time each day working with the children, falling in love each day with their sweet spirits and beautiful faces. They were always so eager to learn and hear more about God's word. They were very delighted with the soccer balls, bubbles, jump ropes, guitar, and other fun things we brought with us. This trip has opened our eyes to so much more than we could imagine. These people that have so little are so willing to give, love and learn. We hope to be able to return soon to continue the work the Lord has started with the children's ministry here in Kenya."
